Counseling is a process of empowerment through ongoing self-evaluation and the client’s commitment to making new choices. Self-care and increased self-esteem are integral parts of the growth process. I am committed to ongoing self-evaluation, education, and ethical practice. My goal as a counselor is to assist in the facilitation of a client’s process of self-discovery, self-evaluation and empowerment in a holistic counseling relationship.
The relationship between client and counselor is confidential. There is a mutual responsibility and commitment to the counseling process which is a therapeutic relationship for the client. The relationship we form is a professional relationship and I am bound by ethical guidelines to protect this boundary. If you attend any of my groups or classes apart from this counseling relationship, please understand that the relationship continues to be a professional relationship on my part.
Although eclectic in style, I am trained as a Reality Therapist and use this cognitive behavioral modality in my practice. I am also trained in EMDR and specialize in trauma. It is the responsibility of the client to choose the counselor whose modality works best for them. Although I address the connection between emotional health and physical health, my practice is in no way a substitute for medical treatment. Please see your physician for any medical concerns.
As a therapist I honor your beliefs and will support you within your belief system.
With clients who choose these techniques, I may use kinesiology, hypnotherapy, EMDR, relaxation, visualization, meditation, journaling, biotherapy, audiotherapy, breathing, toning, movement, energy healing and Reiki, intuition and intuitive development to assist you.
