Our Being is made up of Total Behavior which is Doing, Thinking, Feeling and Physiology. Physiology includes things like our heart rate, the temperature of our skin, etc. We have 100 % control over our Doing, (what we do, our behavior), 90 % control over our thinking, 10 % control over our feelings and 0 % control over our physiology (unless we study intensely to change this through biofeedback).
People often attempt to change through feeling different, but you only have 10 % control over changing your feelings, and it is likely you will get stuck or stop trying to change. It would be helpful to continue to DO something different even though you don’t feel like it, or what I usually do is think about something first. I find if I imagine a new behavior for awhile and think about it, it becomes easier to change. You have 100 % control over Doing and 90 % control over Thinking.
Imagine what it is you need to do or want to do and see yourself doing it. This makes it easier to do. Don’t let your feelings control you and keep you stuck. You have control over your behaviors and what you focus on increases!
