Self-Reflection and Amends Making

April 11, 2018 by @candesscampbell

Last week I found myself in a situation where I was talking with someone and I could hear my own voice. I sounded condescending and intense, with a tinge of anger. It was not how I wanted to convey my message and I felt helpless. At that time, I shared with this person that I could hear my own voice and my intention was not to be condescending, and for some reason I really couldn’t change the sound of my voice. I kept good eye contact to stay connected.

I was trying to understand what the person was doing and was in shock. It took me a couple of days of self-reflection to understand what was happening for me. What I realized was I was shocked by this person’s behavior. I could see the lack of basic skills. Later, I understood that my reaction was shock and also fear. I could not even imagine how someone that age would be unable to do simple tasks. Seeing the person lacking basic skills scared me because I felt responsible to help and I was overwhelmed by the scope of this.

The self-reflection helped me see my own over-functioning behavior and how I can choose to teach and help or choose not to do this. Once I looked at what was underneath my seemingly uncontrollable over-reaction, I called the person and apologized. I was calm and connected and it felt much better. Then I began to look at ways that I could empower the person and not rescue or shame.

The point of this story is that self-reflection is really important and many people don’t have the ability or desire to do this. Very few people take the time to self-reflect and look at how they behave. Because of that, very few people take the time to make amends. Making amends is different than just saying you’re sorry. Too often people say I’m sorry all day long and it has nothing to do with what they do, but is an automatic response because of low self-esteem.

Amends making comes from thinking over a situation and looking at, not only what you did, but also identifying your pattern of reacting. It is about understanding what triggered you so you can do better in the future. The other part of amends making is you don’t only say you are sorry, but you do something to make it better.

I called the person and said I am working on being more respectful and I will do better. In the next couple weeks I’ll do something special for this person to complete my amends making.

We all deserve to be treated with respect. We start by being self-reflective and then make amends. This builds your character. You also model healthy behavior for others.

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

Two Powerful Tools!

March 28, 2018 by @candesscampbell

What are Two Important Tools you have at all times?

The ability to Say Yes and to Say No!

There are many reasons you go on auto-pilot with an answer.

  • You are so busy you don’t think before you speak.

  • You learned from your parents to always say Yes or No.

  • You are a people pleaser and Yes is an easy answer, even though what you are agreeing to may be difficult.

  • You are overwhelmed and No is quick and simple.

It’s your Life – Own it!Click To Tweet

Too often in decision making, you are on auto-pilot. This keeps you from using your ability to reason and more importantly, to listen to your intuition.

On any given day you have many opportunities to make Yes and No decisions. Today I’d like to invite you to become more conscious, more deliberate about your decisions.

It helps to have a notepad or a journal with you.

When you are asked to do something, STOP yourself from answering automatically.

You may respond like this.

  • Interesting, I’ll have to think about it.

  • Let me ponder that and I’ll let you know.

  • Great idea. Let me sleep on it.

  • Thanks for asking. I’ll take some time to see if it is right for me.

So often I witness people who spend a large part of their day doing what they don’t want to do and making excuses why they can’t do what they really DO want to do.

Choice is a powerful tool! The more you make conscious choices, the more empowered you become.

Even taking time for yourself to explore how often you say Yes or No seems self-indulgent. Life is precious. Choose your Quality of Life and make Empowered Decisions.

Zipping Up!

March 21, 2018 by @candesscampbell

One of my favorite Energy Medicine Tools that I use and teach is Zipping Up!

  • Have you ever had a conversation with someone and felt like they hit you in the gut?
  • Have you noticed someone either look you up and down or give you a dirty look and then you didn’t feel well?
  • Do you pick up on other people’s feelings.

A simple technique from Donna Eden can help you protect yourself!

The subtle energy of your hand creates protection to your Central Nervous System. Take a deep breath as you do this and trust that you are protected.

Practice this several times today and create the habit! It is amazing.

Spiritualism and Psychic Readings

March 14, 2018 by @candesscampbell

Saturday Chet Caskey and I facilitated an event at the Haunted D. C. Corbin Mansion in Spokane, Washington.

Chet Caskey is a historian and a Ghostologist. He has written several books and I have been blessed to work with him on the book Spooky Spokane: The Killers, Ghosts and Dark History of the City.

What happens at a Spiritualism and Psychic Reading Event?

As Chet introduced me, I was sensing the energy of the room and setting up energetic protection. This is done with a group of Ascended Masters that assist me, or more accurately, with whom I work. This loving group has guided me since I was young, but it was not until I was older that I began to understand who they were and my commitment to work on this level of my being.

In the front of the room as I began to share, I sensed someone in a lot of pain and stated this. I shared with the group that I would be happy to read them. I offered to answer questions about their job, relationship, whether to move or not and such. I also shared I could connect with a loved on the other side. I let them know if they didn’t have a question I could read one of their chakras.

Chakras are energy centers in your body that are about the size of your fist. They contain all the information related to You! I test to see which chakra needs the most attention and read and clear that chakra.

I could tell those in the audience who have had readings before and were comfortable with a psychic reading. They raise their hands ready with a request. In fact the pain I was feeling in the room belonged to my first participant. She had a family member whose energy she could feel around her and sensed this person was stuck. I check it and saw the same. I moved the energy over to the other side and she validated that she felt it happen.

[clickToTweet tweet=”Is this the right relationship for me? Ask Psychic Medium Candess Campbell! https://energymedicinedna.com/intuitive-readings/” quote=”A hour with a psychic can change your life! “]

Other participants asked questions or offered up their energy field for me to choose a chakra and give them information. What I love about this is I answer their question or offer guidance that may sound vague to someone else. What I know is that I am clear in my answer, but the participant is allowed some privacy by the way I speak and I see their face change immediately in accepting the information.

I connected some of the participants with their loved ones and taught them how to do this in the future. I also read and cleared chakras and moved stuck energy using my voice for sound healing.

There was one man in the audience who appeared uncomfortable and at one point went outside for a few minutes. A while after he came back in, I invited him to share. He said “I am a skeptic.” I engaged him in dialogue because I wanted him to feel safe and honor his feelings. I clarified some of my beliefs as he asked, but mostly I hope I modeled what it is like to communicate with someone who has different beliefs. I heard him, validated his listening to himself over others and didn’t take anything he believed about what I do personally.

After the readings, Chet Caskey reenacts an amazing Séance in the adjoining room. He brings alive the history of the Mansion and the spiritualists in Spokane, Washington, which has an amazing history of psychics!

We all have the ability to sense beyond our five senses. Generally you lose this ability when you are young because your family doesn’t validate it and may even tease you or make you “stop making up stories.” If you don’t give up this powerful ability as a child, your peers may tease you. You just stop listening to your intuition. I think this is often where low self-esteem can creep in. When you don’t trust yourself, believe in yourself and stand in your truth, it is easy to start distrusting yourself. As a mental health counselor I have seen this for many years.

As woo-woo the work I do is . . . Intuition is really simple and practical. Self-reflection is necessary and it takes some time to develop your abilities, but it will serve you well.

The Four Ways to Access your Intuition are listed below. With your journal you can increase your intuition. Begin to note what you notice and take notes in your journal. At the end of the week, look over what you have written and summarize your experience. This is a simple and rewarding process.

Clairsentience or “clear feeling”

Clairsentience comes from your feelings and physical sensations.  When you begin to develop this sense, it is important to slow down and notice how you feel in certain situations.

Claircognizance or “clear knowing”

When you find you just know something, but cannot explain why, this can be claircognizance.

Clairaudience or “clear hearing”

Clairaudience is when you hear information.  These voices can be from different sources within.

Clairvoyance or “clear seeing”

With clairvoyance you may see images and understand the meaning of these visions.

You can also find 4 Ways to Develop your Clairvoyance on my website. This PDF gives you several examples to practice.

Chet Caskey and I will have another Event – An Evening of Spiritualism and Psychic Readings on April 14, 2018!

Arie Luyendyk Jr. – Listen to your Gut!

March 7, 2018 by @candesscampbell

Arie Luyendyk Jr., the recent Bachelor on the The Bachelor was trashed all over social media because of his recent decision. If you haven’t been watching the show, he proposed to Becca Kufrin. They spent weeks together but his mind was split between Becca and the other woman he had fallen in love with on the show, Lauren Burnham.

Lauren presented (as the “Reality Show” depicted her) as being insecure and needing constant reassurance. We all could see Arie light up when he was around her, but many of the viewers and his family saw Becca as the better choice. She was confident, happy, fun and a beautiful woman.

Eventually Arie contacted Lauren through Instagram and started a conversation, which resulted in his breaking off the engagement to Becca. On After the Final Rose, an extended program they created, he proposed to Lauren.

The large following of Bachelor Nation was outraged, but I felt differently.

As a counselor and a psychic medium, working with clients for over 30 years, I was delighted to see him follow his “gut feeling.” He struggled he said from either being in his head or following his heart, but as I watched this season of the show, I could see it was his gut that was screaming out to him and his head that was being what we would think of as reasonable.

[clickToTweet tweet=”The large following of Bachelor Nation was outraged, but I felt differently. #BachelorNation ” quote=”The large following of Bachelor Nation was outraged, but I felt differently.”]

In sessions with clients when they are leaving a marriage or other relationship, I ask them, “When did you first know this was not the person for you?” Almost always they would answer something like “When we first met,” or “The day of the wedding.” Making decisions where your heart, head and gut are involved are not easy. Had they listened to their intuition, many of the traumatic experiences would not have happened.

This is especially true when you have never been taught how to develop your intuition and to trust it.

[clickToTweet tweet=”Arie finally followed his gut! #AftertheFinalRose #BachelorNation @arie” quote=”Arie finally followed his intuition!”]

There are four basic ways to get intuitive information.

This may be a good time to become aware of your own inner guidance, your own intuition. One way to do this is to start a journal and just take notes about what you sense, know, hear, or images you get and then start seeing how they validate what happens in your life.

You can also find a PDF 4 Ways to Develop your Clairvoyance on my website.

With 4 Ways to Develop Your Clairvoyance you can also teach your children how to trust their gut. Children are more in tune with this ability because they have not lost it yet! Find a friend and start exploring with each other by sharing experiences and you’ll see how easy it is to start listening to your intuition.

After this debacle, Arie’s fiancé Lauren no longer presents as being insecure. It appears she truly knows that Arie has chosen her. This supports the thought that “everything happens for a reason.” Having said that, I think we can all agree that initially following your intuition is the simplest and easiest way to live your life.

Blessings to Arie and Lauren. I wish them a spectacular life together.

Congratulations to Becca Kufrin, the new Bachelorette!

All is well in Bachelor Nation!
