Here are some tools for the third chakra that bring self esteem, power and honor to the body.
Grounding is essential for all of the chakras. Sit and image a grounding cord going down from the base of your spine into the center of the earth. This grounding cord can be like a waterfall, a tree trunk or a beam of light. Sense the grounding cord going down all the way through the earth to the fiery center of Mother Earth. Release Energy down your grounding cord starting at the top of your head, down your neck and the channels on either side of your spine, all the way down your grounding cord to the center of the Earth. Take a deep breath and continue to release energy keeping this grounding cord attached near the base of your spine and the center of the earth. With practice you will begin to stay grounded. You can get my Chakra Clearing CD for a more extensive grounding practice as well as to learn to clear your chakras.
Take an inventory of yourself. A simple practice you can do at the end of the day before bed is to ask yourself what you did well and what you could have done better. I use this with my granddaughter when she stays with me. It is an excellent tool for children as well as adults.
A suggestion by Caroline Myss who wrote Anatomy of the Spirit is to write down what you are doing you know you should not be doing and what you are not doing that you should be doing. I have done this several times and it has always been extremely helpful and revealing.
Write out goals for your life. What do you want to accomplish in a year, 5 years, 10 years. A creative way to do this is to create a collage of pictures that represent what you want in your life. You can glue these pictures to a piece of cardboard and put in a place you see it often. Write out simple steps to achieve your goal. At the beginning of each month check back to see if you are on track. Bring consciousness to your desires and goals at the beginning of the month. The beginning of the month has new energy.
The third chakra is about power and ego. Take a class in something you enjoy to increase your knowledge or ability. Read a book that will expand your awareness, knowledge or skill. Join a group of others who have the same interest and supports the direction you are going.
Another self esteem building behavior is to complete your unfinished projects. Take one project a month or one project a week for a month. Learn to finish what you begin. When I was a child I was a Blue Bird and we had a pledge we said at every meeting. The only part of the pledge I remember is “I promise to finish what I begin.” I think of that often when I complete projects and have to believe I remembered this because I need it the most.
