One of the four ways to develop your Intuition is Clairaudience. This is when you hear information from your Higher Self, Guides, Angels or a Loved One who passed over. According to Doreen Virtue, these voices can be from different sources. When you hear information, ask who is talking to you. Information from God/Divine Spirit is loud and to the point. It is friendly, casual and with modern language. Archangels are also loud and to the point, but are more formal and direct. They often talk about getting on track with your goals and not being fearful or doubting yourself. Angels are also formal and direct.
When you talk with deceased loved ones, they sound the way they did when they were physically alive. When I connect others with their loved ones during a psychic medium reading, I first see the person’s personality and how they were when they were incarnated. Then I sense them as they are in Spirit. Connecting with your loved one on the other side can resolve unfinished business and give you comfort.
I’m blessed to communicate often with my family who passed over. I remember when my granddaughter Noel was young and I was thinking, “I wish my mom could see her.” Then I heard Mom say “honey, I’m here and I can see her.” She went on to share how special she thought Noel was. It was amazing and comforting.

Your Higher Self sounds like your own voice and is supportive and loving. Your ego comes across as abusive, discouraging, paranoid and depressing. When I ask a question and am not sure if it is my ego or not, I ask, then I bring my attention up out of my crown chakra at the top of my head up into the heavens and ask again. I can usually discern between my Higher Self and my Ego.
Become aware of the voices you hear. Relax and don’t analyze. Just listen and start to identify your Higher Self from your Ego. Make notes in your journal and trust yourSelf.

I love that you’re talking about this, Candess. I do communicate with those who have crossed over, and it’s nice to be able to say that without folks looking at me as if I have two heads 🙂
One of my archetypes has been the dominant communicator the last six months. He’s really rocked my world . . .
candesscampbell says
Great to have a sister in Spirit Susan. If you don’t help others connect with their loved ones on the other side professionally, I hope you share this with your friends. It is such a powerful experience! Thanks for sharing.
Tamuria says
I sometimes hear advice from a voice I am sure is my Granny’s – not something I readily admit to with family. 🙂
candesscampbell says
Tamuria that’s how it often is with intuition too. When we share our intuitive hits when we’re children, usually our parents tell us to stop making up things and if not them, then our friends tease us and we stop listening to our intuition. So happy you’re listening to Granny’s voice.
Sabrina Quairoli says
I find that over the years, it has been easier for me to decern which part of me is talking. However, I do find it difficult to explain this to my teenagers. They really don’t see the difference yet. I will share this with them. Maybe it will spark a conversation.
candesscampbell says
I love that you are teaching your children to listen in this way. It will enhance their lives. We need more consciousness on our beautiful planet.
Christy Soukhamneut says
I miss so many of my family members that have passed away. It would be nice to see them again.
candesscampbell says
Me too Christy. Even though I can connect with them on the other side, it would be really nice to spend some time hugging them.
Anne DiVitto says
I agree that we need to do more listening in this world today. I can hear God’s voice most definitely and clearly when I take the time to listen. Thank you for your insight!

This post offers wonderful insight, Candess. I remember when I first ‘heard’ my father speak to me, after he’d been gone for many, many years. I ‘heard’ him in my heart, not as his voice that I remember. Maybe this is a different kind of communication, as I can’t say that I have heard anyone who has passed over in the way you are describing. I do know my guides are communicating with me all the time, but it comes in the form of an intuition or feeling, more so than a conversation and words in the way you describe it. My father comes to me in my dreams and it is as if it were yesterday, even though he passed in 1968. He looks and sounds the same in my dreams and it always feels like a grand reunion, even though I wake up feeling sad and missing him here in the physical plain.
candesscampbell says
Beverley you said it beautifully. I imagine a lot of people will understand more how it happens from your description. Thank you and happy you connect with your father!

Have not heard the term Clairaudience – interesting article! I do find myself talking to my Mom; just have to understand this more.

Hi Candess,
Really great post! Yes, it is so important to listen to those voices that are calm and soothing and not the ego (which can be so bitchy) Wow, that must be something to be able to talk to people that have already passed and to comfort their loved ones that needed some closure! Thanks for sharing!
candesscampbell says
It really is rewarding Joan. Thanks for your kind comments.
Lori English says
Hi Candess,
This is a great article I read it and thought I already commented. I enjoyed the post and how you were connecting with a past loved one. My dad died and I feel like I can actually be there first hand for someone and there is always a part of me that speaks to him everyday. Everyone has a different take but I am remaining open to all possibilities.
Thanks
Lori English

I am quite aware of my parents presence in my life. Since I know they are gently guiding me, it helps me appreciate them and love them even more.
Joyce Hansen says
No wonder why all the women in this group seem to connect so well. We’re operating from such a deeper spiritual level. I’m clairaudient from time to time but I’m mostly tuned in on the claircognizance level. It’s nice that after all these years we can so openly share this information.
candesscampbell says
I agree, it is so nice to find women I resonate with Joyce! Love your blog! Using our intuition is so helpful in day to day occurrences!
Renee groskreutz says
I will admit that I am skeptical about this topic but not closed off to it. There is a lot that we don’t full understand and there are experiences that we all have.
candesscampbell says
Renee, I love skeptics. I think why there is so much skepticism is that we don’t understand intuition. A great beginning is to just think about when the phone rings (maybe before cells) and you immediately know who is calling. That is intuition in action! The less we doubt ourselves, the more information we begin to pick up and we begin to trust ourselves.
Sonya Kolodziejska says
I would for my grandad to see my kids, he died a year before my son was born.
In fact, my son was born on the one year anniversary of his death.
candesscampbell says
Sonya, you may want to sit with a photo of your granddad and close your eyes and focus in your heart and sense him. When focused in your heart, ask him to connect with you. My belief is that he does see your children. Blessings to you!
Reba Linker says
Thank you for this, Candess. I have the ability to hear, yet I often don’t open that door to hear what is available to me. Your post helps ‘normalize’ it for me. Thank you.
candesscampbell says
Reba there is so much we could do if we were supported. Normalizing is what we all need! Thanks for addressing this.

An interesting article. Do not know much about it but an interesting point of view.
