Okay here is my confession. I love Reality TV. I know, they are scripted, but being a student of psychology and a therapist, I just really enjoy watching how people respond to each other in different situations. Second confession – Pharrell Williams who was the winner of The Voice last season is one of my celebrity crushes! How can you not love him! He is kind, sweet and stylish. He’s incredibly talented and well, see for yourself.
When I was traveling with a friend earlier this year, I shared how delighted I was with Pharrell. My friend and I enjoyed a two-week Mediterranean cruise and then three days in Venice. As we entered the plane in Barcelona on the way to Venice Pharrell was singing Happy over the speakers.
I started dancing in the aisle and looked at my friend with sparkles in my eyes and a grin on my face. He looked at me and said, “Candess, I’m right here.” Well, yes, but “this is Pharrell.”
So what sparked this blog post is last night during the Battle Rounds on the Voice, when Pharrell needed to choose between two singers, he said
“I’m going to go with my gut. The winner of this battle is . . .”
You’ll have to watch the re-run to see whom he chose. His words really validated my holding Pharrell in such high regard. He is a man who listens to his intuition!

There are some songs that just catch the “pheeling”- which
Pharrel’s ‘Happy’ certainly manages. Just like Bobby McFerrin’s (of the same ilk, I might add) “Don’t worry, be happy”.
I only catch the last 1 minute of the Voice- because it extends to 10:01- and I’m on NBC to catch the next show 🙂

God places that intuition in all of us. Just that some persons exercise it more often than others.
