Mothers are a Mixed Bag

Spring came early this year in Spokane. It is usually around Mother’s Day that I buy the plants for my pots.

As a therapist I am too aware that Mother’s Day is a mixed bag for many. Some of us did not have great relationships with our mothers for whatever reason. As a psychic and medium, I have been able to help others reconnect with their mother after she passed and either communicate with her or understand why she did things the way that she did. I am so aware of how quickly we can loose people in our lives. My mother died expectantly at age 52. I wish I could have gotten over my “attitude” about what I didn’t get or how it should have been before she died.

In the mid 1990’s I did some deep inner work and re-mothered my inner child. Since then I have been helping clients re-mother themselves. I developed a process that I call What’s Wrong Little Girl. This of course could be changed for your inner male child. The process is below.

I wish I had accepted my mother just as she was. We all develop ways of protecting ourselves as we become shaped by our environment. Whether you become a victim, an avenger, withdrawn, or chaotic; we all do the best we can do at the time. It is as adults we have the opportunity to heal the past and be the best we can be in the here and now!

As you heal your own inner child and then re-integrate her back into your adult-Self, you are able to accept and love others, just as they are.

Journaling with your Inner Child

Write down

     1. What’s Wrong Little Girl?

State the situation – Person said this, did this, etc. Respond to her by identifying her feelings.

     2. I hear you were afraid, oh, you sound so sad, etc.

She responds with more information because she was heard.

     3. Write more of what she has to say.

Ask her what she needs and listen!

     4. She may need to go for a walk, to listen to music, take a bath, have a healthy snack.

Give her what she needs and promise her you will take care of her and DO IT!

She will learn to trust you again and soon she will integrate back into your adult Self and all will be so much better!

Writing with Soul Stems

This last week I facilitated a workshop on my new book Live Intuitively: Journal the Wisdom of your Soul. In this book I use Soul Stems.  A Soul Stem is a writing prompt that takes you deeper within yourself where you will be able to access your own Soul information! In my new book, you will also be guided to intuitively read your chakras and journal with the symbols you receive.

Here are some Soul Stems you can begin with.

(Have a notebook that is not expensive, one where you can be messy and find a fast writing pen.)

Set a timer for 20 minutes or commit to 4  full pages of a notebook size paper.

Start with a Soul Stem such as

What frustrates me the most is . . .

What I really want in my life is . . .

I would be happy if . . .

Continue writing for 10 to 20 minutes. Don’t worry about punctuation or spelling, just keep your pen moving. If you get stuck, just write “I am stuck or I’ don’t know what to write” over and over until something else comes up.

You will probably start with something that is on the surface, then move into resistance (I don’t want to do this, my hand hurts, this is boring) and then eventually you move into what is really going on deep within you.

If may take 3 or 4 sessions to get to this point, but don’t give up.

This is a commitment to connecting with your SELF!

What is DNA Activation?

You may wonder about DNA Activation and what it is and what happens when you get your DNA activated. I liken it to a spiritual immune builder. We have 2 strands of DNA in our physical body and up to 144,000 strands in our etheric body. I originally activated to 12 strands of DNA, but one day when I was in my office with a client, we simultaneously felt some energy coming down from the top of our heads. we looked at each other and said together, “We just got activated to 144 strands of DNA!” I was surprised and later called Diane Stein, whom I had been working with after connecting with the Lords of Karma. She checked in with her guides and said yes, that is correct. Then later I received a message that people were being activated to 144,000 strands!

Now, I tend to be grounded, have my feet on the ground, have a degree in Counseling Psychology from Gonzaga University and a doctorate in Clinical Hypnotherapy from American Pacific University, but I cannot help it  – when something spiritual happens, it happens, and I follow my path and my guidance. Although many people will not believe something until it is proven with science, I am a big believer of personal experience as well. In fact, science, which I love is finally catching up with what we have known intuitively for many years. I find I am usually many years ahead, and hope that the understanding of the etheric field and DNA strands becoming activated will be main stream information in the next few years.

At this time, it is important for me to assist others in becoming activated. Since my work with the Ascended Masters, the Lords of Karma, DNA Activation and the Essential Energy Balancing (Karmic Clearing) workshops I have facilitated, my life has been incredible.  I am able to manifest easily and it is much easier to move from negativity or fear into peace, love and forgiveness.

The DNA Activation and Essential Energy Balancing Workshops are not magic, but they do clear the karma and bring more Light into your body so that you can do the daily work of changing behaviors, practicing love and kindness, and finding joy and peace.

Generosity

I was talking this Easter morning with a friend who owns an Inn. We had a discussion about generosity. She was doing the laundry for the rooms and shared how upset she was with people who don’t leave a tip for the housekeepers who clean the rooms. I was a little defensive because I am a good tipper but didn’t even think about tipping when I stay in a hotel. She said that people who travel a lot know this. I told her I do travel and I travel internationally, but I didn’t know it. Now that my consciousness is raised, I do know and I will tip those who clean rooms in hotels. She said people can leave a dollar on the pillow and mentioned Dave Ramsey’s Rant on Tipping. Here it is. It is really a teaching about being generous. Beautiful teaching on this Easter morning for my Christian friends and other Light Beings!

Communication and ADD

Have you ever listened to a friend and thought “Can she even hear herself?”  We all have patterns of communication, and behavior for that matter, we don’t notice.

I remember one day my daughter said to me, “Mom, you’ve said that before, several times.” Many of you know when I was 14 years old I had an accident that resulted in a Near Death Experience with head injuries. As a result of this I have experienced some memory problems. Another result of this trauma was I lost my sense of smell, which also influences memory. A positive from the accident is a definite increase in my intuition. When my brain was injured, my intuitive self took over and now much of how I access information is intuitively.

Unless we continually challenge our brain, we can develop memory lapses. Since my daughter’s comment, I have been working on being aware and not repeating myself. Repeating can happen for reasons other than memory problems and brain injury. When one has a history of not being heard, not being listened to by others, they can develop a pattern of repeating. Saying the same thing over and over again can also come from a lack of self-awareness.  It can also be an ineffective way of trying to heal an emotional wound.  You may say the same thing over and over but nothing changes. It would be more effective to change your behavior by accepting a situation or changing your relationship with the problem; forgiving, leaving, setting boundaries and such. Saying the same thing over and over can also be a sign of ADD.

Have you ever had a conversation with a friend, loved one or a co-worker who often repeated the same thing and didn’t focus. Someone with whom you tried to create a plan, but politely getting them to pay attention, listen and commit to a time was near impossible? Instead they just kept telling you all the situations that went on in their day and you were not able to set a meeting.

So, how to do you communicate with friends, loved ones and co-workers that are ADD or have ADD
symptoms?

Listed here are some of the Inattentive Symptoms of ADD; not the Hyperactive Symptoms. This may help you to identify why you’ve had some difficulty communicating with someone. It can clarify why you may have felt frustrated and hopefully will give you some helpful communication solutions for yourself.

Inattentive ADD Symptoms

  • Careless mistakes/lack of attention to details
  • Lack of sustained attention
  • Poor listener
  • Failure to follow through on tasks
  • Poor organization
  • Forgetful in daily activities
  • Avoiding tasks requiring sustained mental effort
  • Losing things
  • Easily distracted

Depending upon how close you are to this person, you may want to research more about ADD and continue to learn.
Here are some simple ideas that may help.

  • Use emails as your primary form of communication to set up meetings. This way you can scan the email quickly for the details about the meeting.
  • Start your conversation with, “I have one minute to plan this meeting.”
  • When the person becomes tangential, politely bring them back to topic. “Oh, I’m sorry, I
    have to go, when did you say you could meet?”
  • Give the person 3 clear choices of times.
  • Be willing to set a boundary.
  • If the person won’t be decisive, realize the meeting may not happen and move on.
  • Plan your communication with the person when you have enough time to go through the
    process to get the meeting planned.
  • Have a plan B for your time so if their disorganization creates a last minute cancelation, it
    won’t disrupt your life.
