Spiritualism and Psychic Readings

March 14, 2018 by @candesscampbell

Saturday Chet Caskey and I facilitated an event at the Haunted D. C. Corbin Mansion in Spokane, Washington.

Chet Caskey is a historian and a Ghostologist. He has written several books and I have been blessed to work with him on the book Spooky Spokane: The Killers, Ghosts and Dark History of the City.

What happens at a Spiritualism and Psychic Reading Event?

As Chet introduced me, I was sensing the energy of the room and setting up energetic protection. This is done with a group of Ascended Masters that assist me, or more accurately, with whom I work. This loving group has guided me since I was young, but it was not until I was older that I began to understand who they were and my commitment to work on this level of my being.

In the front of the room as I began to share, I sensed someone in a lot of pain and stated this. I shared with the group that I would be happy to read them. I offered to answer questions about their job, relationship, whether to move or not and such. I also shared I could connect with a loved on the other side. I let them know if they didn’t have a question I could read one of their chakras.

Chakras are energy centers in your body that are about the size of your fist. They contain all the information related to You! I test to see which chakra needs the most attention and read and clear that chakra.

I could tell those in the audience who have had readings before and were comfortable with a psychic reading. They raise their hands ready with a request. In fact the pain I was feeling in the room belonged to my first participant. She had a family member whose energy she could feel around her and sensed this person was stuck. I check it and saw the same. I moved the energy over to the other side and she validated that she felt it happen.

Other participants asked questions or offered up their energy field for me to choose a chakra and give them information. What I love about this is I answer their question or offer guidance that may sound vague to someone else. What I know is that I am clear in my answer, but the participant is allowed some privacy by the way I speak and I see their face change immediately in accepting the information.

I connected some of the participants with their loved ones and taught them how to do this in the future. I also read and cleared chakras and moved stuck energy using my voice for sound healing.

There was one man in the audience who appeared uncomfortable and at one point went outside for a few minutes. A while after he came back in, I invited him to share. He said “I am a skeptic.” I engaged him in dialogue because I wanted him to feel safe and honor his feelings. I clarified some of my beliefs as he asked, but mostly I hope I modeled what it is like to communicate with someone who has different beliefs. I heard him, validated his listening to himself over others and didn’t take anything he believed about what I do personally.

After the readings, Chet Caskey reenacts an amazing Séance in the adjoining room. He brings alive the history of the Mansion and the spiritualists in Spokane, Washington, which has an amazing history of psychics!

We all have the ability to sense beyond our five senses. Generally you lose this ability when you are young because your family doesn’t validate it and may even tease you or make you “stop making up stories.” If you don’t give up this powerful ability as a child, your peers may tease you. You just stop listening to your intuition. I think this is often where low self-esteem can creep in. When you don’t trust yourself, believe in yourself and stand in your truth, it is easy to start distrusting yourself. As a mental health counselor I have seen this for many years.

As woo-woo the work I do is . . . Intuition is really simple and practical. Self-reflection is necessary and it takes some time to develop your abilities, but it will serve you well.

The Four Ways to Access your Intuition are listed below. With your journal you can increase your intuition. Begin to note what you notice and take notes in your journal. At the end of the week, look over what you have written and summarize your experience. This is a simple and rewarding process.

Clairsentience or “clear feeling”

Clairsentience comes from your feelings and physical sensations.  When you begin to develop this sense, it is important to slow down and notice how you feel in certain situations.

Claircognizance or “clear knowing”

When you find you just know something, but cannot explain why, this can be claircognizance.

Clairaudience or “clear hearing”

Clairaudience is when you hear information.  These voices can be from different sources within.

Clairvoyance or “clear seeing”

With clairvoyance you may see images and understand the meaning of these visions.

You can also find 4 Ways to Develop your Clairvoyance on my website. This PDF gives you several examples to practice.

Chet Caskey and I will have another Event – An Evening of Spiritualism and Psychic Readings on April 14, 2018!

Spiritualism and Psychic Reading Event

January 22, 2018 by @candesscampbell

When you’re an empath, psychic or highly sensitive person (HSP) you experience the world differently than others. On the way to the haunted D. C. Corbin Mansion for the Spiritualism and Psychic Reading Event with author and historian Chet Caskey this last weekend; as I was driving through downtown Spokane I noticed a lot of different colors. I was thinking, as other people see color first, I see energy. A large part of my perception is something that other people don’t get it all. I’m learning to stop trying to communicate what it’s like for me to people who just can’t hear. We pick up so much information unconsciously and those of us who are more sensitive to this information become marginalized by society.

At the event there were people who wanted to connect with a loved one on the other side. Others wanted to know about a relationship. I shared information I received and some information was so personal that due to protecting the participant’s privacy, I didn’t share all I received. Some were skeptics and admittedly so. I told them, yes, you should always be a skeptic and trust yourself over another. Once you build a relationship with a psychic, then you can trust more.

One man in particular appeared to be there at the insistence of someone else. It was interesting. I had to stop and clear my own energy more often than usual to get clear information. Although I protected myself energetically, his fear resulted in his unconsciously throwing daggers at me. Of course, I couldn’t share this in public, and did a major clearing on myself when I got home and enjoyed my new favorite Stash tea – Chocolate Orange.

When you go to see a medium, it is best to have questions you want to ask about or of a loved one. With a psychic have specific questions ready that you want to ask. You can find some sample questions on my website. There are times that people ask questions to test me and I generally won’t answer them. I have been a counselor and a healer for over half my life. I have nothing to prove. Seeing a psychic can be fun and entertaining and when you come to see me, it can also be healing. In a private session, I am more specific and go deeper.

Sometimes what I see has nothing to do with what you were asking and as arrogant as this may sound, it is exactly why you showed up. This happened in a previous event. A man had asked a question and I don’t remember what it was, but what I do remember is I understood it would be helpful for me to do healing on his leg that was in a partial cast or something similar. As I sat myself down on the beautiful hardwood floor of the mansion, arranging my formal dress under me, I started doing Reiki on his leg. I was thinking, hmm. . . Candess, I’m not sure sitting on the floor in a formal at this event is appropriate, but no one objected. I realized I gave him what he needed. I’ve learned over the years to laugh at myself. It is a necessary requirement for being a Psychic Medium.

Collaborative Relationships

January 27, 2016 by @candesscampbell

My word for 2015 was Collaboration and did I ever learn a lesson in this area!  As I reflect on my performance, I think I was strong in some areas and weak in some others.

What I wrote as my goal for choosing a partner in January of 2015 now makes me laugh! Here it is!

The 3 most important aspects of a Collaborative Partner that I outlined are the following.

  1. Choose a partner that is organized enough that they not only show up for appointments on time, but are able to have timely emails back and forth that are clear and succinct.

  1. Honesty is a must. The partner needs to be emotionally and mentally able to comprehend so they are able to be honest, with their self and with you. This is not always the case. Sometimes people respond to the “stories in their head” and are not able to hear what you are saying. This can be timely and cumbersome.

  1. Willing to commit to a contract. When you have business collaboration, a contract is important. Conversations you have prior to the contract may not be your final agreement. You need to have it in writing. If there are issues that come up after the contract, then amend or have an addendum to the contract.

What I have learned from 2015 is that it is not about the partner I chose. They are only mirrors. It is about me!

Recently I have been reading and understanding at a deeper level from The Diamond Cutter: The Buddha on Managing your Business and your Life.

Diamond CutterThere is a Soul Group that I have been in for several years. We are reading this book and working on ourselves. My friends are women I trust and have been able to be vulnerable with about my own short-comings and also about my resistance. What I am learning is that finding the best Collaborative Partnerships do not come from creating a list of what qualities they will have, but to understand my own imprints and attract the best people and situations.

If you are having some difficulties in any area of your business I strongly recommend this book.

Having said this, I am extremely grateful to Chet Caskey, the author of Spooky Spokane. My collaborations with him have been delightful and abundant!  http://www.twodogcitytours.com/

Corbin Mansion Ghost Reading!

August 21, 2015 by @candesscampbell

Getting ready for the Ghost Reading Event at the Corbin Mansion. I always enjoy these events and they are always full. We have break out sessions where I share with  the group about the local ghosts. As a psychic medium I  also connect them with their loved ones that have crossed over!

I enjoy sitting in the window box with there with Anna Louise. She waits for Corbin to return. She enjoys when we have events that focus on her because she is lonely.

Chet Caskey and I have a book coming out in October entitled Spooky Spokane so this will be a fun night to share some of the highlights!

Chet Caskey is a retired attorney, local author and spiritual teacher. He leads a walking ghost tour through downtown Spokane.  He is the author of Haunted Spokane: Ghosts & Dark Places in the Lilac City and Spokane’s Historic Cemeteries.

Here is a video where Chet and I met with Stephanie Vigil of KHQ news.
