The Prostitute Archetype

Keeping with the 4 main Archetypes that we all share, the 3rd of the 4 is the Prostitute Archetype. Again, this information comes from notes from classes I took from Caroline Myss and Norm Shealy on Medical Intuition and her book Sacred Contracts along with information I gained in my counseling practice and of course, my own life.

What I love about the Prostitute Archetype is that it is truly about Faith. When you are in survival mode, when you believe you will lose all that you have or not get what you truly believe you need in order to survive, the choice is either to compromise your integrity or have faith.

Some of you may know I have struggled a lot with loss. First was my near death experience (NDE) when I was 14 years old. The second main challenge was when I had a house fire and lost everything (material). I was at work and my two daughters were home. My daughter called me and said “Mom, the house is on fire!” I told her to get her sister and get out. I was terrified and prayed all the way home. First I saw the ambulance, then my dad and then my children. When I looked at my home burning, I saw an image of Jesus’s hand reaching down into the ashes and bringing out Life! At that time I knew all was well.

Later, there was emotional and material loss after a divorce. I became depressed and could not work for a while. Many of my belongings were stored in the barn at the home where my husband and I had lived. My former husband rented the house and the renter moved all my belongings into a room in the barn where the roof leaked. All my possessions were ruined. Having moved and not having a job at the time, I didn’t have money to pay rent at my apartment. I prayed and told God that if it were his will that I be a bag lady on the street, then so be it. I would minister on the street. Although I was ready to give up everything to do God’s will, I did hold out for a request of warm socks. What happened instead was my life changed. I went into private practice and was gifted with abundance beyond what I had imagined.

In all of these cases, when there was loss, the answer was Faith and the way for me to Faith was and is surrender. Now, this was my response to what had happened. Today when I pray, I usually pray for others and in gratitude for all I have.

Prostitute Archetype – The Guardian of Faith

The core issue is how much you are willing to sell your morals, integrity, intellect, word, body, soul for the sake of physical security

Engages lessons in integrity and the sale or negotiation of one’s integrity or Spirit due to fears of physical and financial survival for financial gain.
Activates the aspects of the unconscious that are related to seduction and control, whereby you are as capable of buying a controlling interest in another person as you are in selling your own power.
Selling your talents, ideas, and any other expression of the self or “selling out” your talents, ideas and other expressions of self.
Comes into play most clearly when our survival is threatened.
Dramatically embodies and tests the power of faith; with faith no one can buy you, you know you can take care of yourself and the Divine is looking out for you – without faith, you will eventually meet the price you cannot turn down.
Majority of prostitutes are in bad marriages or in miserable jobs; their inability to move out of toxic environments is totally tied to economics.
Who or what is trying to buy, use or contaminate you? As Jesus with Satan, every time you take a step on your path of personal empowerment, you will meet someone who will want to buy a piece of your soul, rendering you less powerful and themselves more powerful.
Shadow side is taking shortcuts such as buying or sharing power, i.e. “I am a friend of a friend of famous person.”
One stays in relationships that by name gives them power long after the relationship has gone cold.
Confronting the prostitute transforms it into the guardian that watches over your relationship to faith.
The prostitute is your ally that alerts you when you shift from the Divine to the physical.
Whenever you are in a faith crisis, list your thoughts and fears, especially the ones that are trying to talk you into compromising yourself.
Be aware of the prostitute when it appears you could order your life if you had the money, when you stay in relationships so you don’t have to be alone and when you think of doing something unethical or illegal “for the good of the company, family, etc.”
Prostitute relationships are the most painful because they involve survival and are often terrifying and humiliating.
Do you think before you say your opinion “What will this cost me in terms of popularity or gain?”
The prostitute can awaken you to “take up your bed and walk.” Once you get away from a circumstance that costs you too much money, energy, dignity or time, lasting transformation is possible.
Shadow prostitute will urge you to sell out your integrity and your vision of true independence at the first opportunity.

April’s Cardinal Cross: The Seasons of Our Lives In One Month

Many people have been affected by the upcoming energy of the Grand Cross so I asked my astrologer to help us to understand what it means.

Much has been discussed in recent months about the meaning and potential effects of April’s “Cardinal Grand Cross.” Just what does it mean to experience the combined effects of four planets each playing its own role in one of the four Cardinal signs forming a very close alignment in the shape of a cross in the same month?

The four Cardinal signs of the Tropical Zodiac are Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn that signify the beginning of the four seasons with the Sun’s annual arrival at zero degrees of longitude in each Cardinal sign. Cardinal signs can be described as “initiatory” corridors that usher in the official arrival of the Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter seasons each year.

Just as the seasons change with the arrival of Spring (birth), Summer (growth), Autumn (decline), and Winter (death), so do human lives in the course of each passing season and year.

The April 2014 Cardinal Grand Cross consists of a unique alignment of the planets Uranus in the sign of Aries, Jupiter in the sign of Cancer, Mars in the sign of Libra, and Pluto in the sign of Capricorn. These four planets form the symbol of a “Cross” within a single degree of an exact alignment that reaches its closest aspect during April 20th – 23rd. This Cardinal Grand Cross is further distinguished by its placement near the midpoint of two eclipses during the final two weeks of April.

The combined effects of so much focused celestial energy compressed within two weeks indicates completions and new beginnings both globally and individually as we experience the energies of all four seasons within a single month.

Stillwaters Astrology – April 2014

April 5th: Venus enters Pisces. The planet of beauty, love, and relationships joins Mercury, Chiron, and Neptune in the transcendent sign of Pisces bringing a welcome soothing quality to an otherwise intense month of April.

April 7th: Mercury enters Aries. The planet of communications picks up its pace as it departs sensitive Pisces and enters the aggressive fire sign of Aries. Mercury will receive an up close preview to report to us as it aspects the key Cardinal Grand Cross players of Jupiter, Uranus, Pluto, and Mars from April 14th – 16th. Those with planets or chart angles between 11 to 15 degrees in the Cardinal signs of Aries, Cancer, Libra, or Capricorn will be most affected by April’s Cardinal Grand Cross.

April 14th: Pluto retrogrades in Capricorn. The planet of transformation reverses direction on the eve of a Total Lunar Eclipse. As Pluto steps backwards in Capricorn for the first time since April 2013 it partners with Mars already in retrograde during next week’s Cardinal Grand Cross while Jupiter and Uranus maintain their course in direct forward motion.

April 15th: Full Moon in Libra/Aries Total Lunar Eclipse. Today’s Total Lunar Eclipse is analogous to the April 15th, 1995 Lunar Eclipse that preceded the catastrophic bombing of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma within four days on the morning of April 19th, 1995. Easter arrives this year on Sunday, April 20th, 2014, so it’s wise to be very conscious in activities with so many unpredictable collective dynamics during the second half of April.

April 19th: Sun enters Taurus. The Sun arrives in the earthy fixed sign of Taurus on the eve of Easter just in time to provide some ballast and grounding for the closest alignment of the initiatory Cardinal Grand Cross during the next four days.

April 23rd: Mercury enters Taurus. Just as the Cardinal Grand Cross completes its peak performance (including an exact 90 degree square aspect between Uranus and Pluto on April 21st), Mercury lends support to the Sun in Taurus by helping citizens of the global village return to terra firma and adjust to April’s celestial currents.

April 28th: New Moon in Taurus Solar Eclipse. April concludes with a Solar Eclipse in the earth sign of Taurus. After the transformational events of the past four weeks we now arrive at an opportune time to sow seeds for new beginnings.

Interview with Mary Getten

With the holidays coming we are not the only ones who are stressed. Learn from Mary Getten, an animal communicator.

Mary, I am so happy to do this interview with you. I remember many years ago talking to you about my miniature poodle, Friday. As an animal communicator, you gave me so much information about him. I was so excited I signed up and took your class!

Mary, what is an Animal Communicator?

Mary: An animal communicator is someone who is able to telepathically communicate with your animal. In this mode, we connect energetically mind-to-mind or heart-to-heart with the animal and act as a link between you and your pet, so in essence, we have a three-way conversation. Some communicators do this in person, but most of us work at a distance on the telephone. Animal communicators might get mental pictures, hear words, get emotional or physical feelings, an intuitive sense of knowing, or all of these during a consultation. This is an innate ability that we are all born with but have been socialized out of using. With a little training and a lot of practice, anyone can regain this skill to communicate with all life.

What issues might arise that contacting you or another animal communicator would be helpful?

Mary: I work with people who are having behavior issues like barking, fighting, soiling in the house, fear, anxiety – anything that you would like to change. I have many calls about health issues, if the animal has pain, why it’s not eating, and sometimes for insight when the vet can’t figure out what’s wrong. I deal with questions about death and dying, upcoming changes in the household, to find out if the animal would like another animal friend, or just to check-in and see if there is anything the pet needs or wants. It is my job to understand what is going on from the animal’s perspective and then work with the person to see how they can resolve any issues. Sometimes it involves negotiation and problem solving, but it always creates more harmony and understanding in their relationship.

How might we better communicate with our pets?

Mary: When you speak to your animal, always talk about what you DO want, never about what you don’t want. Animals are reading the mental pictures we unconsciously create when we speak, so if we talk about what we don’t want, we are picturing the unwanted behavior. Speak slowly and hold a mental picture of what you DO want, and your animal will understand – encourage them to chew on their toys instead of telling them to not chew on the drapes.

I have a Cairn terrier mix named Domingo. I know he stresses easily, especially around the holidays when there is fireworks. What do you suggest we do for our pets to help them deal with the stress of the holidays?

Mary: If you know that your animal gets stressed during holidays, it’s important to think ahead and come up with a plan. I highly recommend doing emotional release techniques such as EFT or the Emotion Code for any issues that you already know about. This will help to release the emotions permanently. You might also give your pet flower essences that address their specific issues (fear, shyness, etc) or Rescue Remedy for general calming. It is also very important that you explain what will be happening over the holiday (strangers in the house, loud noises, etc.) and reassure your animal that they will be happy and safe during this time. Show them a mental video of what to expect and be sure to show them happy and calm in the video. And above all else, keep yourself calm and your animal will follow suit.

When I was in Hawaii in 2008, I swam in the middle of the ocean with about 40 spinner dolphins. It was the most incredible experience I have had in my life! Do you do any workshops with dolphins?

Mary: I LOVE dolphins and every year I take a lucky group of people to swim with wild dolphins in the Bahamas. My next trip is May 13-19, 2012. What classes do you have available and what would one expect to learn in your class?

Mary: In my animal communication classes, you will learn how to open your receivers so that you can hear/see/feel what animals are communicating. I also teach classes to connect telepathically and communicate with nature. I offer a one-day workshop on Animal Death and Spirituality where we explore animals’ views on death and connect with our pets in the spirit realm.
