The Story of my NDE (Near Death Experience)!

August 30, 2016 by @candesscampbell

I put my story about my Near Death Experience (NDE)

in the very back of my book Live Intuitively: Journal the Wisdom of your Soul

and want to share it with you here.

THIS IS THE beginning of it all and so I am a little surprised I would list this at the end, but I think that telling this story is important.

When I was 14 years old I was what was referred to back then as a “Jesus Freak.” If you research the movement you will get a lot of different views, but for me it was amazing. There was a coffee house in downtown Spokane called the “I AM Coffeehouse.” I hitchhiked downtown from the north side of Spokane to hang out and pass out the newspapers called “The Truth.” We shared the message, which was called Witnessing. Today if someone did this, it would annoy me, but this was the late 1960s and early 1970s and a totally different time.

On January 1, 1971 my family was visiting my aunt, uncle, and cousins who lived near Shadle Park. From their house I decided to take the bus downtown to “witness.” I walked to the bus stop at Alberta and Rowan and waited. A man pulled up in a baby blue pickup truck and asked me if I wanted a ride. I thought to myself, “Jesus will protect me,” so I got in.

I noticed he was taking me somewhere other than downtown. I began to panic and I could hardly breathe. I put my hand on the door handle, contemplating my next move. The truck turned left and I quickly opened the door and either jumped or flew out – or both.

The next thing I remember was awakening to bright lights overhead. My eyes focused and I saw my dad and my mom looking over me, their faces gray and drained. Later I realized I was at Holy Family Hospital. Apparently, I had been in a coma for two weeks.

I was told I had a contusion and a Catholic priest (my dad’s faith) had been called and he administered last rights. What happened for me, though, was that I experienced floating upwards and going towards a light. There was a Being near the light (who now I know to be Saint Germaine) who said to me, “You are not done yet, you have to go back.”

Years later, with the help of my dear friend, the late Dr. Gilbert Milner, I was able to piece together the memories and sensations of this experience. Gil was a psychiatrist, shaman, and hypnotherapist and – through hypnotherapy – he guided me to relive the experience of the accident.

This trauma resulted in brain damage (my term) and I had to relearn to coordinate my body. During the time that my brain was healing, I could not think well and therefore accessed the intuitive part of me in order to survive. This experience catapulted my psychic abilities and somehow left an opening for me to access the world beyond the physical.

Since I was a little girl I often reached out for the Spirit world as a safe haven. Although I adored my dad, he was alcoholic and when he was drinking I didn’t feel safe. I began to “connect upward” rather than to trust those in physical bodies. I enjoyed a sense of belonging with God and the Angels and today I work closely with and am guided by a group of Ascended Masters called the Lords of Karma.

This is a lot of self-disclosure. Please share how you can relate.

In the Mirror of Others!

June 26, 2016 by @candesscampbell

I was having a discussion with a friend tonight about my beliefs and Christianity. It was great to share with each other about how she experiences Jesus and my relationship with Jesus. She was curious about my beliefs and I asked if she had read my blog about my trip to India and she hadn’t. I didn’t realize I had first published it in 2011, so I am re-posting to share with her and you!

I realized that the first few days of my trip to India were to be about learning to listen to my intuition. One of the experiences where I didn’t listen to this gentle inner voice was at the train station in Mumbai.

India 2010 2 180

On the platform a young crippled man came up to me. He was scooting himself across the dirty cement of the station with his hands. His feet were twisted, and he appeared to be sitting with his legs curled up to his body. I reached into my purse to give him some coins. My intuition said to give him 500 rupees, but I thought my travel mates would say no so I didn’t. When I gave him a few rupees from my purse, his eyes and mine met, and there was an incredible light in his eyes. I felt like I had touched a power source with jolts of electricity running through me. A few minutes later he crossed my path again, and when our eyes met, we smiled, connected and waved.  The feeling was so intense, that even days later, as I write this, my eyes are tearing. When I went to our train compartment I shared my experience with my Indian friend. He said, “This is the first of many you will meet. That is why you were so touched.” I explained to him that I agreed I would meet many, but that this one was different. My intuitive self knew he was an enlightened being. My friend asked, “Then why would this man have that kind of body?”

I entered trance and began to share the information I received. I understood that we are not our body. This physically crippled man had transcended his body. The reason he took on this body is that he came to the earth this incarnation to be a Light and to mirror to others. Everyone who looks at him will see him differently. Some may experience anger, sadness, judgment or joy. What I saw was an enlightened being! He was mirroring to us what we needed to see in ourselves at that time. I needed to see an enlightened being in a form that I did not expect. Another time I may experience him differently.

If this experience was all that happened to me spiritually on this trip to India, it would have been enough. This incredible being gave me a healing I will remember forever.

India 2010 2 186As the trip continued, I realized an important recurring theme was: We are all connected, and we gift each other. In this case, I gave him rupees, and I saw who he actually was. He gave me an incredible spiritual activation and awareness of myself, an understanding of what my life is about at this moment.

We can look at others in our lives and experience the healing of being mirrored by them. This is the sacredness of relationship. Whatever it is you are seeing in your life, take time to see it symbolically.

Recently, I was sitting on my patio reading a novel. Suddenly, I saw a spider on my knee, right there as if it was looking at me. I am not extremely frightened of spiders, but I jumped up: “Aahhh!!!” and knocked it off my leg. Then I asked myself, “What message did this little creature have for me?” In answer, I quickly saw a spider web holding all the projects I have in play right now. I saw myself spinning my own web. Then I saw the spider in the corner of the web resting. I realized I need to sit in the corner of my web at times and rest. Later, when I was sharing this story with a friend of mine who teaches dream interpretation and who I knew would understand the symbolism, I also realized my reaction to all my projects, was: “Aahhh!!!” I laughed at myself. I loved the mirroring gift from this spider.

Whether you are traveling the trains in India, sitting on your patio in your back yard or sharing with a friend, the gift of seeing yourself in the mirror of others is available to you daily. What a gift to expand the awareness of the magnificent being that you are! What a gift to shine your light as you remove the veils and stand in your Light!

Max

Since I wrote this, I read the book  The Yoga of Max’s Discontent by Karan Bajaj. If you enjoyed this story and have not read his book, I highly recommend it. His teaching about yogis transcended anything I understood before and expanded my mind and I will be forever grateful.

“A sickly body does not indicate that a guru is not in touch with divine powers, any more than lifelong health necessarily indicates an inner illumination.”

The Prostitute Archetype

September 26, 2014 by @candesscampbell

The function of prayer is not to influence God,

but rather to change the nature of the one who prays.

Søren Kierkegaard

Keeping with the 4 main Archetypes that we all share, the 3rd of the 4 is the Prostitute Archetype. Again, this information comes from notes from classes I took from Caroline Myss and Norm Shealy on Medical Intuition and her book Sacred Contracts along with information I gained in my counseling practice and of course, my own life.

What I love about the Prostitute Archetype is that it is truly about Faith. When you are in survival mode, when you believe you will lose all that you have or not get what you truly believe you need in order to survive, the choice is either to compromise your integrity or have faith.

Some of you may know I have struggled a lot with loss.  First was my near death experience (NDE) when I was 14 years old. The second main challenge was when I had a house fire and lost everything (material).  I was at work and my two daughters were home. My daughter called me and said “Mom, the house is on fire!” I told her to get her sister and get out. I was terrified and prayed all the way home. First I saw the ambulance, then my dad and then my children. When I looked at my home burning, I saw an image of Jesus’s hand reaching down into the ashes and bringing out Life! At that time I knew all was well.

Later, there was emotional and material loss after a divorce. I became depressed and could not work for a while. Many of my belongings were stored in the barn at the home where my husband and I had lived. My former husband rented the house and the renter moved all my belongings into a room in the barn where the roof leaked. All my possessions were ruined. Having moved and not having a job at the time, I didn’t have money to pay rent at my apartment. I prayed and told God that if it were his will that I be a bag lady on the street, then so be it. I would minister on the street. Although I was ready to give up everything to do God’s will, I did hold out for a request of warm socks. What happened instead was my life changed. I went into private practice and was gifted with abundance beyond what I had imagined.

In all of these cases, when there was loss, the answer was Faith and the way for me to Faith was and is surrender. Now, this was my response to what had happened. Today when I pray, I usually pray for others and in gratitude for all I have.

The following are pearls, especially if you are one who contemplates, meditates and journals! Enjoy!!!

Prostitute Archetype – The Guardian of Faith

The core issue is how much you are willing to sell your morals, integrity, intellect, word, body, soul for the sake of physical security

  • Engages lessons in integrity and the sale or negotiation of one’s integrity or Spirit due to fears of physical and financial survival for financial gain.
  • Activates the aspects of the unconscious that are related to seduction and control, whereby you are as capable of buying a controlling interest in another person as you are in selling your own power.
  • Selling your talents, ideas, and any other expression of the self or “selling out” your talents, ideas and other expressions of self.
  • Comes into play most clearly when our survival is threatened.
  • Dramatically embodies and tests the power of faith; with faith no one can buy you, you know you can take care of yourself and the Divine is looking out for you – without faith, you will eventually meet the price you cannot turn down.
  • Majority of prostitutes are in bad marriages or in miserable jobs; their inability to move out of toxic environments is totally tied to economics.
  • Who or what is trying to buy, use or contaminate you?  As Jesus with Satan, every time you take a step on your path of personal empowerment, you will meet someone who will want to buy a piece of your soul, rendering you less powerful and themselves more powerful.
  • Shadow side is taking shortcuts such as buying or sharing power, i.e. “I am a friend of a friend of famous person.”
  • One stays in relationships that by name gives them power long after the relationship has gone cold.
  • Confronting the prostitute transforms it into the guardian that watches over your relationship to faith.
  • The prostitute is your ally that alerts you when you shift from the Divine to the physical.
  • Whenever you are in a faith crisis, list your thoughts and fears, especially the ones that are trying to talk you into compromising yourself.
  • Be aware of the prostitute when it appears you could order your life if you had the money, when you stay in relationships so you don’t have to be alone and when you think of doing something unethical or illegal “for the good of the company, family, etc.”
  • Prostitute relationships are the most painful because they involve survival and are often terrifying and humiliating.
  • Do you think before you say your opinion “What will this cost me in terms of popularity or gain?”
  • The prostitute can awaken you to “take up your bed and walk.”  Once you get away from a circumstance that costs you too much money, energy, dignity or time, lasting transformation is possible.
  • Shadow prostitute will urge you to sell out your integrity and your vision of true independence at the first opportunity.
