Money! Money! Money!

In keeping with the idea that Less is More; rather than choosing several goals for the New Year, I choose a word. The word for last year was Allow. Wow! Happy the year is almost over because it was an awakening for me!

I consciously worked on the Path of Least Resistance and Allowing. It ended up in a massive growth spurt! Feel free to translate in your mind what the words growth spurt mean.

This year the word that I am focusing upon is Money! I am bringing consciousness to Money! I’ve chosen the book Money: Master the Game by Tony Robbins. I’ve started reading it in a Soul Group of friends and we are on our way to awareness and changes.

Money brings up a lot of emotion for people. Whether you are afraid to have money for fear of losing it, you save every penny you can, or you spend without restraint – having it and not having it means something different to us all.

Here are a couple of Soul Stems to journal to clarify for yourself if you have the courage!

Don’t Waste Time

Keeping with communication, this week I’d like to share about Time. We communicate by what we say, but we also communicate by what we do. Earlier this week I was at Super Supplements and found myself behind a young man who was trying to purchase something. He struggled with figuring out what he could buy for the amount of money he had. He must have had a gift certificate or something. The cashier had partially ringed up his purchases and then he took off to find the perfect new purchase for the right price. As he wandered around the store, another person and I stood in line waiting.

I was in between clients and was running a quick errand and I was not happy with having to wait. The cashier said she couldn’t cancel the purchase and ring us up as he wandered. Finally another cashier came to open another register. I was burning up with Don’t Waste My Time.”

What I realized is I have been busier than I would have liked the last few years and I am like a mother bear protecting her cub around my time. Practicing Less is More prior to the book I am publishing by the same name helps.

Another book that was helpful is Sonia Choquette’s Soul Lessons and Soul Purpose. In the chapter Waste No Time she says if you “squander your time,” basically you hold yourself back and others too!

I loved that Choquette said, “Do not waste other people’s time either. It is emotionally indulgent and disrespectful to break agreements, send mixed messages, arrive late for appointment (or miss them altogether), or be unaccountable.”

It was twenty years ago I took the Landmark Forum and Advanced Forum. One gem I learned was how important it is to follow through when you Give your Word. It is about who you are and how others see you. You either gain respect and trust or you don’t.

Now, I am not saying I don’t mess up at times. Occasionally, for some odd reason a client appointment disappears from my calendar and I end up unprepared as someone shows up or I call a client because they missed an appointment and I hadn’t recorded they had cancelled.  When this happens, I grovel appropriately and do whatever I need to do to make it right with them.

My time is valuable and so is yours.

Everyone Has 24 Hours in a Day

Do you ever feel you have to juggle it all to make your commitments each day? Whether you’re scattered or organized, most of us tend to over-schedule ourselves. Even the weekends get planned so tightly that by Monday, you feel tired and ready for a break. Do you have trouble distinguishing between what is important and what becomes habit?

I remember one day when my daughter Charisma was young, she asked me to take her to go play with a friend. My response was that I was too busy and couldn’t take her. I didn’t have time. She looked at me and said, “Mom, everyone has 24 hours in a day.” Interestingly, this statement shocked me! I didn’t realize I had wound myself so tight; I wasn’t even aware of how much I had over-scheduled and how it affected my children. We all have 24 hours in a day! You can choose how you spend your time.

Several years ago in an intuitive session with a client, I saw an image of an open book in his heart chakra. In this book, I saw several countries and several cultures. When I shared this, he said that he and his wife had planned to travel when they retired, but she had become ill with cancer. He said that she wanted him to do some traveling without her. I sensed he was grieving and didn’t want to go alone. From the image in his heart, though, I sensed that if he didn’t go, he would suffer energetically, having dreamed of his trip for years. Energy stuck in the heart can create stress and possibly illness. If his wife felt guilty because he didn’t go, like he suggested, this may affect her health negatively as well. His choices were many. I am not sure what he decided to do, but my hope is he was able to travel some, keep a video record of the trip and share it with his wife. As a friend of mine always says, “Life is short.”

Less is More!

Have you ever noticed that after clearing off your desk or cleaning out your purse or briefcase, you feel a lot more organized? Do you notice that you think more clearly? It is true that your inner mind reflects your outer environment, and your external environment affects your mind. Feng Shui experts teach about the flow of energy and how the placement of objects can affect your life and your health. The chi, or life force, gets stuck, and it can create an imbalance or even illness.

Previously, when my former husband and I were looking to buy a home, our vision was a country home near a source of water. One home we looked at was sitting in a narrow valley between two mountains nearby. When I looked at the placement of the house, I thought energy would get stuck between the two mountains and whoever lived in that house would most likely get sick. I asked the realtor why the couple was selling. He shared with us that both people who lived there were ill and had to move closer to their children. It is important that energy be able to flow and not become stagnant. Sometimes, clutter can stop the movement of energy as well.

Have you ever found out that you bought two or more of the same book, forgetting you already bought it, yet never reading it? Do you have several of the same items or many items that you don’t use? Does the clutter make it difficult to find anything? How about technology? Do you know how to use all the features of your camera, smartphone and computer? Are you so overwhelmed with your electronic toys that you can’t remember how to use them? Maybe you can’t even find them!

The concept of “less is more” does not only mean using what you have, but also learning to live within your means! When you make purchases, focus on quality, not quantity. Use what you have before you buy something new.

Now is the time to make the commitment to clear your space. Notice what you use easily, without effort and regularly. A good rule of thumb is if you don’t use it or love it, give it away or sell it. You can begin by going through your home, room-by-room, and finding three items each day that you really don’t use or need. Create two piles, one “give away” pile and one “sell” pile. If the object is not worth much, you can save money and time by just giving it away to a charity. If you have a business, you can even write the donation amount off on your taxes.


Opportunity

1. Stop right now and set your kitchen timer or watch for 15 minutes. Pick an area of your house that needs some organization. Choose a drawer, bookshelf or even the kitchen table. Chose something that is manageable in a short amount of time. Organize and come back.

That felt great, didn’t it? When you take a 15 or 20-minute time interval, it makes organizing manageable, and the reward is great.

2. Sit and visualize your home. List in your journal the areas you need to clear out. Assign an order to the list and make a commitment to begin the clearing. Start with small areas so you feel successful. Next, pick an area where you feel the most overwhelmed by clutter. Break it down into smaller areas. It can be helpful to have paper bags or plastic containers to put items in that will take longer, such as paperwork or items you might find in a junk drawer. Clear the area, using one bag or container at a time, and either put the things away, give them away or add them to the “sale” pile.

Hint: When organizing paperwork, you can bring the bag into the living room and go through it when you are watching TV, listening to music or at the kitchen table when you are talking with your loved ones.

3. If the idea of touching the mess or moving anything is too much for you, take your journal and use these Soul Stems:

I am most overwhelmed when . . .
I feel secure when . . .
If I were organized, I’d be . . .
A simple step I can make today is . . .

4. Call a friend or a family member who can come over and be with you when you organize. This shared energy, even if they don’t help, makes the task seem easier.

5. Set up a family or neighborhood yard sale. As you do this, you will find it easier and easier to let go of items you don’t use. Allow someone to be your muse for organization.
And last, and maybe the best for you, hire a home organizer or even a housekeeper to help you begin this process. It will be well worth the money spent.

Matching Energy

When I was taking classes in Meditation and Healing at the Church of the Divine Man many years ago, they taught about “matching” other people’s energy. An example is, if you are around someone who is angry, you may match him or her and become angry. When you are around someone peaceful, you can match him or her and become peaceful. I have been teaching this in my counseling practice for years and helped clients understand they can change how they feel by becoming aware and making choices.

I remember reading a study in one of my books (which I will find to update this blog) that had three plants. One plant was the control and the plant was watered without any variables. The second plant was watered with water where someone who was very happy and positive held the water for a period of time and the third plant was watered with water that was held for a period of time by someone who was clinically depressed. Of course, the result was the plant watered by the person who was happy grew the most; the control the second and the plant watered by the person who was depressed had stunted growth.

Physics has taught us that everything is energy, including humans, and it makes sense we affect each other in subtle and powerful ways.  When I feel blue, a little grumpy, I will put on a CD by someone like Wayne Dyer to raise my mood, to shift my energy. Conversely, when I binge on music from my childhood, such as listening to Sunday Morning Coming Down, I have to pick myself up off the floor!

What inspired me to write this blog is I have been promoting a program called Habit of Attraction developed by Robert Evans. I have put it on FB, Twitter, Launchpad, sent emails and have become excited and energized about this. This morning I thought I may have gone overboard with promotion and sat to figure out what it is about this that “hooks” me.

I became acquainted with Robert when I was in the Next Top Spiritual Author contest. In that program I set up my free membership website, which has become a success for my book 12 Weeks to Self-Healing: The Gift of Pain. Later, I took his Habit of Attraction course and exceeded my financial goal for the year. Currently, I am in the Write Your Mini-book in 7 Days Course and plan to launch my Less is More: Slowing Down in an Over-stimulating World book before the end of the year.

What happens is I get energized and match his energy when I am in programs with him. I see that his working with others who also are spreading messages of love, light, and abundance also energizes him.  In his programs, I have been honored to be on phone calls with people I admire like Neale Donald Walsh, the author of Conversations with God and with James Twyman who I admire for this work as a Peace Troubadour.

My focus in my work for years has been to empower others to access their Essence, to realize who they truly are and to manifest their dreams in their lives. This is the work I see Robert Evans doing and I am focused, energized, and motivated by his work. That’s my answer. That is why I am doing this promotion. Now, if you wonder, yes, I have connected with him in an affiliate program. This is one way I can stay connected to this powerful, manifesting energy.

Please take some time to think about who energizes you.

Who helps you become your better Self. Who leads the way and makes it easier for you to excel and manifest your dreams. Think about who it is that drains your energy and leaves you feeling bad about yourself. Sometimes we can’t change who we are around, but we can use those who are motivating and inspiring to bring us back into balance.
