I Don’t have time to take Care of Myself!

September 7, 2016 by @candesscampbell

So often I hear “I don’t have time for myself.” These clients end up spending hours, days and years cleaning up the mess they could have prevented had they taken the time to “do the work.”

[clickToTweet tweet=”Your intuition can guide you! Let me help you!” quote=”Your intuition can guide you!”]

My process since being a young woman has been to read and journal about what I read as a way of becoming conscious. Often I have taught classes from some of the books such as Anatomy of the Spirit by Caroline Myss and Women Who Run with the Wolves by Clarissa Pinkola Estes.

Part of the motivation for writing my book Living Intuitively: Journal the Wisdom of your Soul came from my personal growth experiences. Using the chakra system as the structure for gaining information and using Soul Stems (writing prompts) you are able to access your intuition and begin to trust yourself to make the best decisions.

An excerpt from Living Intuitively: Journal the Wisdom of your Soul

Chakra Four – The Heart Chakra

Self Love

So often your perception of yourSelf comes from how others have seen and treated you as a child. As young children you are not only vulnerable, you are impressionable and make decisions early on about your worth. You emulate those around us and attempt to get your needs met for love and belonging. This can set up a belief about yourSelf that will ultimately change with experiences and attitudes you have throughout your life. The generation in which you were raised and your culture also affects your view of yourSelf and self-love.

Soul Stems

 What I believe about myself is . . .

 The biggest trauma I experienced was . . .

 If I forgive (name) I am afraid . . .

I long to open my heart, but . . .

I still need to heal the memory of . . .

I use my past to sabotage myself by . . .

 What I value about myself is . . .

Enjoy!

Testimonial

Candess Campbell has written a book that anyone can use to develop their intuition and their health. So often our early childhood programming has sublimated our intuition, and with it our health. Live Intuitively suggests “soul stems” for us to use to journal. Observations on the chakras, and their impact on your physical, chemical and emotional health can be added to your soul stem to create a personalized tool. Her journaling process will take you back through layers of consciousness to get in touch with your original mind, your intuition.

Live Intuitively is a guidebook. It is clear and simple. Best of all, once you reach your destination with a soul stem, there is another stem waiting for you. The book could last a lifetime, because our journey back to our intuitive self always lasts a lifetime. Recommended for seekers everywhere.

Living in the Margins

August 17, 2016 by @candesscampbell

Have you ever typed a document and kept changing the paper margins to get more information on the page?

Recently, it became apparent to me that I was living in the margins.

P1010220In my case, the margins became almost non-existent!  I put so much into a day that I had no margin left for something else. If there was a last minute invite to a concert or movie I couldn’t go. There was no room for an emergency.

I had no margins!

Years ago when I used to use a paper calendar, I scheduled in “shapeless time.” That was for whatever I wanted, whether it was to finish a project, read a book or take a walk. It didn’t matter. It was MY time.

I fell out of the habit of scheduling time for myself without noticing it.

How do you integrate time for yourself?

Using the Soul Stem process, grab a notebook or your journal and write for 10 minutes completing each of the following Soul Stems.

  • If I had more time…
  • The one fun thing I want to do is…
  • When I am alone…

See what comes up for you. You will find more exercises and information in my Self-Help Toolbox!

Living in Present Time!

June 25, 2016 by @candesscampbell

“Indifference and neglect often do much more damage

than outright dislike.”
― J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

Over the years,  I taught manifesting and creating the life you want. In order to do this, you have to bring the past into “present time.” What I mean by this is that when you focus on the past and live in the past, your life is controlled by what you felt and thought in the past. What happens is you continue to feel those feelings in the present.  Living in the past leaves no room for what you are experiencing in the present. Living in the past, having your thoughts and feelings consumed by the past, can also control your future. Your past becomes your future.

Kyoto- If I can lift the rock my wish comes true!

Living in the future creates anxiety.

Living in the past creates depression.

When I talk about healing the past, what I hear most is “how do I do that?” Well, there are many modalities for healing the past. One way is to become aware of the memories and the wounds.  Feel them and change your beliefs around them. Your feelings are a result of your beliefs. Often your beliefs flitter so quickly in your mind, you have difficulty noticing them, grabbing them and examining them.

Start with the feelings you can identify. In your journal, write out a list of people and situations where you have been hurt or angry. Allow yourself to feel your feelings as you remember. Be gentle and compassionate with yourself.

Look at where you may have contributed to the situation. Take inventory of your own actions. You can use the successful process from the Big Book of AA.  When taking inventory, write out where you were selfish, self-centered, frightened, or to blame.

Now, you may not have had any responsibility in the situation, especially if you were a child. In that case, look at what was going on in the other person’s life at the time.

IMG_0156People do the best they can at the time. Sometimes their best is destructive and hurtful to others, but it still is the best they can do with the awareness, teachings and the consciousness they have at the time. Are there some things you would like to do that you don’t do? Are there behaviors you have that you wish you didn’t? Have you behaved in the past in ways you would not behave today because you know better? No one is perfect!

Anger is a secondary emotion that covers up pain or fear.

When you have had desires, demands or expectations of someone, and they don’t do what you want or give you what you want, you respond by feeling angry or hurt.

If this happened in your past, in order to heal yourself and move on, you can forgive them. If it is a present situation, then you can make choices on how you choose to handle the situation. If you choose to continue to stay in a destructive situation, that is your choice. The responsibility then becomes yours. You cannot blame the other person when you choose to stay. What happens when you blame someone else is, then only thy have the power to change the situation and you become a victim. When you take responsibility for your choices, you remain empowered and in control of your life.

If you still have a lot of pain or anger about the situation, write out what happened to you. You can write it over and over until the “sting” or “charge” is gone. You may want to read it over and over to a safe, loved one, until the memory is no longer controlling you. You can forgive and move on. This does not mean you agree with what happened, it just means it no longer controls you.

Only you have the ability to clear your past and live fully in present time, thus giving you the power to create the life you want to live.

Clearing frees you to live in present time!

The Victim Archetype

June 17, 2016 by @candesscampbell

In the last blog I gave you  some information about the Saboteur Archetype and encouraged you to use the information to explore within yourself in the privacy of your journal. Today, I am focusing on the Victim Archetype.  This information comes from information from Caroline Myss’ work in her Sacred Contracts book and the classes I took from her on Medical Intuition and Sacred Contracts. I have also added information that I have gained from working as a mental health counselor and chemical dependency professional for over 20 years.

Remember that we all have 4 archetypes that we share. These are the Child, Victim, Saboteur and Prostitute.  Each of these archetypes have a positive side to them and with the Victim it is Self-Esteem. This would be the other side of the victim.

In the process of your journey and self-healing, you have to come to terms with your victim self and move beyond this state of being. You can identify your victim, confront the behavior, love and forgive yourself and bring your energy into present time. In fact, unless you can bring at least 80% of your energy into present time, you will not have the power to self-heal. What do I mean by bringing yourself into present time? Watch your thoughts. Do you go off to the future (which can create anxiety) or drift off to the past (which can cause depression) or are you able to be present in the moment?

If you journal, this will give you a great opportunity to explore your inner life journaling from these characteristics. You may want to use my book Live Intuitively: Journal the Wisdom of your Soul when you explore deeper. You can use the Soul Stems, which are writing prompts to take you deeper into your Self!

Victim Archetype

Guardian of Self Esteem

Core issue is whether it is worth giving up your own sense of empowerment to avoid taking responsibility for your independence.

  • When you don’t stand up for yourself after awhile you no longer can tell the difference whether you are being victimized or not; so either you are being victimized and don’t know it or you are not being victimized, but act as if you are.
  • The victim archetype helps you decide what you will or will not do; a guardian of personal boundaries.
  • Lessons associated with the victim archetype demand that you evaluate your relationship to power, especially with people with whom you have control issues and have to set boundaries.
  • Primary objective is to develop self-esteem and personal power.
  • You have contracts with people whose primary purpose is to help you develop yourself-esteem through acts of honesty, integrity, courage, endurance and self-respect.
  • The victim will entice you to feel sorry for yourself.
  • You can act like a victim and give in or call upon your companions and guides for help.
  • Like the lion in the Wizard of Oz, you need to have the courage to look at your victim and make it your ally.
  • Do you victimize yourself in the way you interpret conversations with other people?
  • Does your victim alert you to protect yourself rather than letting people take advantage of you?
  • Does your victim motivate you to be shrewd in the dealings of whatever house it is in?
  • Does your empowered victim allow you to take risks in your life?
  • The victim urges us to act appropriately when we are in danger of being victimized.
  • The victim can alert us to being victimized through passivity and rash or inappropriate actions.
  • It can also alert us to how we victimize others for personal gain.
  • In shadow it may show how we play victim for sympathy or pity.
Here is the Soul Stem Process and a few Soul Stems to work with.

The relationship that controls me the most is . . .

If I were empowered I would . . .

I need to stop focusing upon . . .

If I could, I would . . .

The Saboteur Archetype

June 2, 2016 by @candesscampbell

There is a situation in my life that may be an opportunity manifested. When manifesting though, as soon as you identify what you want or see the manifestation ahead, doubt sets in and you begin to undo that which you have been working on creating! This is what is happening for me, so I decided to revisit The Saboteur Archetype and explore what is happening at a deeper level.

I took a class from Caroline many years ago on Sacred Contracts and then taught from her book of the same name. From the information I gained from her and some of my own experiences, I came up with a list of characteristics of these archetypes. Myss explains how each of these four archetypes are like legs of a table in which we build our life. Here is some information about the Saboteur Archetype which Myss refers to as the Guardian of Choice.

If you journal, this will give you a great opportunity to explore your inner life journaling from these characteristics. You may want to use my book Live Intuitively: Journal the Wisdom of your Soul when you explore deeper. You can use the Soul Stems, which are writing prompts to take you deeper into your Self!

Core issue of Saboteur is fear of inviting changes into your life; changes that shape and deepen your spirit

  • Other side of destruction is rebuilding and rebirth
  • Use saboteur to consciously dismantle areas of your life you need to fix or heal
  • Makes itself known through disruption and resistance
  • Is the mirror that reflects your fears of taking responsibility for yourself and what you create
  • You can silence the saboteur with acts of courage and following your intuition
  • Listen to the small voice and make choices – small ones to begin with
  • Shadow saboteur will play on your fears that you are not good enough to accomplish anything on your own
  • We are afraid that if we are enlightened we will be alone, wont’ be vulnerable, capable of sensual love, so we feed the shadow saboteur, the part of use that is fragmented
  • We fear empowerment because we think it will remove us from the warmth and comfort of loved ones
  • We fear empowerment because we don’t want to be responsible for our actions and therefore consciously or unconsciously encourage our weakness and hold onto our fears; we do want to be around others that are empowered or enlightened though
  • Do you sabotage your personal growth for a little comfort or does your inner saboteur alert you to stay on the Yellow Brick Road
  • Work with your saboteur to see where you may be doing yourself in (what are you doing you know you should not be doing and what you are not doing that you know you should be doing?
  • Have you blown an opportunity to follow a dream?
  • Saboteur is made up of the fears and issues related to low self esteem that cause you to make choices in your life that block your own empowerment and success
  • When you make the saboteur your ally it can call your attention to ways you might be sabotaged or sabotage yourself and then you can make other choices The intellect of the scarecrow can work with your saboteur to alert you to when you are doing yourself in
Here is the Soul Stem Process and a few Soul Stems to work with.

What scares me the most about (the manifestation) is . . .

If I walk away from this opportunity then . . .

The opportunity I regret not taking is . . .

When I say YES to this experience, I will  . . .

Enjoy the process of deepening your relationship with yourSelf!

I am available for a psychic readings if you want some clarity and energy clearing.

Writing with Soul Stems

April 5, 2016 by @candesscampbell

This last week I facilitated a workshop on my new book Live Intuitively: Journal the Wisdom of your Soul. In this book I use Soul Stems.  A Soul Stem is a writing prompt that takes you deeper within yourself where you will be able to access your own Soul information! In my new book, you will also be guided to intuitively read your chakras and journal with the symbols you receive.

Here are some Soul Stems you can begin with.

(Have a notebook that is not expensive, one where you can be messy and find a fast writing pen.)

Set a timer for 20 minutes or commit to 4  full pages of a notebook size paper.

Start with a Soul Stem such as

What frustrates me the most is . . .

What I really want in my life is . . .

I would be happy if . . .

Continue writing for 10 to 20 minutes. Don’t worry about punctuation or spelling, just keep your pen moving. If you get stuck, just write “I am stuck or I’ don’t know what to write” over and over until something else comes up.

You will probably start with something that is on the surface, then move into resistance (I don’t want to do this, my hand hurts, this is boring) and then eventually you move into what is really going on deep within you.

If may take 3 or 4 sessions to get to this point, but don’t give up.

This is a commitment to connecting with your SELF!
