July 2014 Astrological Forecast
Stillwatersastro.com
July 1st: Mercury turns direct in Gemini. A collective sigh of relief ushers in the second half of 2014 as Mercury steps forward after 23 days of retrograde in June. As if on queue, Mercury’s most recent retrograde period insisted that we take time to digest and integrate the effects of the spring season’s powerful transits.
July 12th: Full Moon in Capricorn/Cancer and Mercury enters Cancer. The first Full Moon of the summer season in the northern hemisphere initiates the first of three consecutive Super Full Moons during July, August, and September. A “Super Moon” is distinguished by its “perigee” or close proximity in orbiting the Earth. Super Moons magnify the lunar effects of human emotions, seismic activity, and weather patterns. Family traditions and transitions are also highlighted by this Full Moon in the Cancer cycle. Mercury’s arrival in Cancer on July 12th further underscores the qualities of today’s Full Moon: For every completion there will be a new beginning.
July 16th: Jupiter enters Leo. For the first time in twelve years exuberant Jupiter returns to the sign of Leo where it will be the life of the party during the next year. Jupiter’s expansive nature can produce over extension in risks, socializing, and spending, so temper actions with wisdom.
July 18th: Venus enters Cancer. Lady Venus arrives in the nurturing sign of Cancer lending her grace to help calm and sooth the peak events of this year’s solar cycle in Leo.
July 20th: Saturn stations direct in Scorpio. Saturn turns direct for the first time since March 2nd. The planet of authority will complete the year in the sign of Sagittarius near the winter Solstice.
July 21st: Uranus stations retrograde in Aries. Transiting Uranus steps back in Aries to continue its square dance with Pluto in Capricorn resulting in yet another transformational exact square between 12 and 13 degrees of longitude in the Cardinal Signs by mid December 2014.
July 22nd: Sun enters Leo. The annual Leo solar cycle begins with a close conjunction to Jupiter in Leo for the first time in twelve years. The Leo cycle represents a creative period each year characterized by r the arts, crafts, and music.
July 25th: Mars enters Scorpio. Mars completes an eight month tour in the sign of Libra today including three months retrograde beginning on March 1st. Mars will activate both Saturn in Scorpio and Uranus in Aries during the last two weeks of August. The alignments of these three planets during July and August could heighten international tensions.
July 26th: New Moon in Leo. Thismonth’s New Moon in Leo closely conjoins with Jupiter in Leo during a rare rendezvous that is very fortunate for beginning new initiatives.
July 31st: Mercury enters Leo. Fleet footed Mercury covers three signs in a single month: Gemini, Cancer, and Leo. Mercury arrives in Leo on the final day of July, and will partner with the Sun and Jupiter in Leo during the first eight days of August.

May 2nd: Venus enters Aries. Lady Venus arrives in the aggressive cardinal fire sign of Aries in pursuit of spring romance. As she strolls through each degree of Aries between now and May 28th she will certainly have no shortage of suitors to choose from.
May 7th: Mercury enters Gemini. The messenger planet celebrates a spring homecoming in its own sign of Gemini. The greatest quandary of Mercury in Gemini is who or what to choose and how long might it last until mercurial Mercury becomes bored and decides to move on?
May 14th: Full Moon in Scorpio/Taurus. The annual Wesak Full Moon of Buddha consciousness reaches it zenith at 12:16 pm PDT. Those with planets or chart angles between 20 to 30 degrees in the fixed signs of Scorpio, Taurus, Aquarius, or Leo are likely to experience a completion or change of direction in their lives.
May 19th: Mars turns direct in Libra. Mars steps forward in the sign of Libra for the first time since it retrograded on March 1st. The past eleven weeks in retrograde have served Mars well, as the warrior planet secured its coveted seat in April’s Cardinal Grand Cross.
May 20th: The Sun enters Gemini. The Sun’s arrival in the mutable air sign of Gemini ushers in the final month of this spring season preparing the way for the arrival of summer on the June 21st Solstice.
May 28th: New Moon in Gemini and Venus enters Taurus. Today’s New Moon in Gemini harmonizes with Mars in Libra while activating mystical Neptune in Pisces. Perhaps we will receive some clues as to what the first nine weeks of this spring season represented to each of us as summer approaches. In the meantime, Venus arrives in Taurus returning to earth after a passionate spring fling in the sign of Aries.
May 29th: Mercury enters Cancer. Mercury crosses the finish line of its annual homecoming in Gemini to immerse itself in the foreign oceanic depths of Cancer where it will retrograde on June 7th as it pivots to retrace its steps back to its native sign of Gemini on June 17th. Ambidextrous Mercury thrives on juggling and testing itself with each of the twelve signs, and it will turn on a dime leaving both its team mates and opponents wondering how Mercury was ever admitted to play in the celestial sports court in the first place.
Stay tuned for June’s forecast!

April’s Cardinal Cross: The Seasons of Our Lives In One Month
Many people have been affected by the upcoming energy of the Grand Cross so I asked my astrologer to help us to understand what it means.
Enjoy this guest blog by Lee of Stillwaters Astro! http://stillwatersastro.com/ – Candess
Much has been discussed in recent months about the meaning and potential effects of April’s “Cardinal Grand Cross.” Just what does it mean to experience the combined effects of four planets each playing its own role in one of the four Cardinal signs forming a very close alignment in the shape of a cross in the same month?
The four Cardinal signs of the Tropical Zodiac are Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn that signify the beginning of the four seasons with the Sun’s annual arrival at zero degrees of longitude in each Cardinal sign. Cardinal signs can be described as “initiatory” corridors that usher in the official arrival of the Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter seasons each year.
Just as the seasons change with the arrival of Spring (birth), Summer (growth), Autumn (decline), and Winter (death), so do human lives in the course of each passing season and year.
The April 2014 Cardinal Grand Cross consists of a unique alignment of the planets Uranus in the sign of Aries, Jupiter in the sign of Cancer, Mars in the sign of Libra, and Pluto in the sign of Capricorn. These four planets form the symbol of a “Cross” within a single degree of an exact alignment that reaches its closest aspect during April 20th – 23rd. This Cardinal Grand Cross is further distinguished by its placement near the midpoint of two eclipses during the final two weeks of April.
The combined effects of so much focused celestial energy compressed within two weeks indicates completions and new beginnings both globally and individually as we experience the energies of all four seasons within a single month.
Stillwaters Astrology – April 2014
April 5th: Venus enters Pisces. The planet of beauty, love, and relationships joins Mercury, Chiron, and Neptune in the transcendent sign of Pisces bringing a welcome soothing quality to an otherwise intense month of April.
April 7th: Mercury enters Aries. The planet of communications picks up its pace as it departs sensitive Pisces and enters the aggressive fire sign of Aries. Mercury will receive an up close preview to report to us as it aspects the key Cardinal Grand Cross players of Jupiter, Uranus, Pluto, and Mars from April 14th – 16th. Those with planets or chart angles between 11 to 15 degrees in the Cardinal signs of Aries, Cancer, Libra, or Capricorn will be most affected by April’s Cardinal Grand Cross.
April 14th: Pluto retrogrades in Capricorn. The planet of transformation reverses direction on the eve of a Total Lunar Eclipse. As Pluto steps backwards in Capricorn for the first time since April 2013 it partners with Mars already in retrograde during next week’s Cardinal Grand Cross while Jupiter and Uranus maintain their course in direct forward motion.
April 15th: Full Moon in Libra/Aries Total Lunar Eclipse. Today’s Total Lunar Eclipse is analogous to the April 15th, 1995 Lunar Eclipse that preceded the catastrophic bombing of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma within four days on the morning of April 19th, 1995. Easter arrives this year on Sunday, April 20th, 2014, so it’s wise to be very conscious in activities with so many unpredictable collective dynamics during the second half of April.
April 19th: Sun enters Taurus. The Sun arrives in the earthy fixed sign of Taurus on the eve of Easter just in time to provide some ballast and grounding for the closest alignment of the initiatory Cardinal Grand Cross during the next four days.
April 23rd: Mercury enters Taurus. Just as the Cardinal Grand Cross completes its peak performance (including an exact 90 degree square aspect between Uranus and Pluto on April 21st), Mercury lends support to the Sun in Taurus by helping citizens of the global village return to terra firma and adjust to April’s celestial currents.
April 28th: New Moon in Taurus Solar Eclipse. April concludes with a Solar Eclipse in the earth sign of Taurus. After the transformational events of the past four weeks we now arrive at an opportune time to sow seeds for new beginnings.

The Saboteur’s Moon (Understanding Karma)
I am delighted to share with you this great information about the Saboteur’s Moon by Jon Waldrup, an Incarnational Astrologer. This is especially significant to me because I work with Karma and Clearing Karma. He explains it so well!
The first Full Moon of 2012 is tonight, January 8th at 11:30 PM Pacific Time. This is the Saboteur’s Moon. It wants to help us see how we compromise our heart-knowing in order to be comfortable, functional, accepted, etc. It wants to show us how allowing ourselves to feel vulnerable and exposed by our truth helps to set us free. For whenever we do ignore our heart’s truth in favor of fitting in, we close the karmic loop and make sure we go for another lap.
And with the Sun in Capricorn, what we would prefer to say is that our heart’s truth is always loving and light, so why would we ever disguise it? And how could there be shadow in our hearts?
There are so many angles to come from on that. If Romeo and Juliet is the world’s greatest love story then fatal co-dependence is love? I would say probably not, but it is a story of two people who lived from their hearts. They were certainly not afraid of being vulnerable, were they?
One of the shadow aspects of 20th century spirituality had to do with how many ways we were taught to suppress our karma, rather than live in it. Karma itself was given a bad name – who wants to deal with karma? The truth is that karma is actually the bridge between fate and destiny. It wants to help us to live Alive in Heaven on Earth.
If you are driving your car through an intersection and someone runs a red light and creams you, this is an example of Fate. The karmic piece of it has to do with how you deal with the emotions involved in the aftermath. Fate gives you the opportunity to work with your karma in order for you to grow towards your destiny.
Your karma is the particular tone of the shadow you are working with in this lifetime – rage, depression, dependence, etc. The karmic piece is the emotional piece. Our destiny is to understand the oneness, the perfection, of all of life – including fate and karma. Then we are on the spiral instead of the wheel.
So, it was fate that brought Romeo and Juliet together, so that they could explore the shadows of co-dependent love. And they did! And that is what makes their story so compelling. There is so much about their story that we could call unhealthy – we can look down on such organic, emotional, exposed ways of being.
But is that life? Why did your soul choose to come in to this plane, to have a heart that can be broken, that can lead you astray, that can expose you to shame and torment? Fate gives you the chance to live in your heart. Karma seeks to teach you that Life itself is Heavenly.
What I think is that because he went “all the way” with what his heart was asking him to do in response to the fateful relationship with Juliet, in his next life, perhaps Romeo was able to live quivering inside with gratitude for having had the chance to love so deeply – he was able to taste the anguish of loss and find it delicious. He was able to move beyond regret.
Will you accept The Invitation? Or will you live on the wheel of emotional avoidance?
Here is a smaller example. What if you know one thing and say another? Maybe something that you’ve expressed as truth for a long time turns out to be false. Maybe you’ve put a lot of heart into a certain moralistic stance and new experience points out the failings of your dogmatism. There is real vulnerability in admitting that you were wrong. And yet if you can, if you do, life springs forth from that and you find yourself further up the spiral.
The wisest person I have ever spoken with said to me, “I am most grateful for those times in my life when I was most out of control.” In other words, when the shadows in his heart came out, when he was most vulnerable to that sanitized, patriarchal way of looking at things that wants us to remain “in control” (i.e. Sun in Capricorn). Sometimes we have to say we’re sorry. So that we may grow.
The Saboteur is in us to point out ways in which we hide our truth. The patriarchal response to that is to suppress those aspects of ourselves which are outside the comfort zone. In that way of looking at things, those who live “with their heart on their sleeve” are to be looked down upon.
The truth is in your heart, and keeping it hidden keeps you on the wheel. When you express your truth, you go up the spiral.
This Full Moon, the first of 2012, is helping us to see how we have kept our truth hidden so that we may live within a dying civilization. How many laps on the wheel does it take to show us that the comfortable ways are getting us nowhere?
Tonight at 11:30 PM Pacific Time, the Moon, who teaches us our karma, is in the 19th Degree of Cancer. The Chandra symbol for this degree is, “An opossum comes out into the moonlight.” Let your vulnerable heart be seen. Allow yourself to experience your emotions, and to find life itself through them. Oh, it can hurt! Are you afraid?
Believe in Heaven, and that is what you will see.
