Home bound feeling Helpless!

When providing intuitive readings to clients, what I see most is that they are in transition. In fact, I believe most people worldwide are in transition. The identity one associated with in the past has shifted. Jobs are gone, loved ones have been lost and trust in the governmental powers that be, have been, and are scary. 

This began with me before Covid began. My brain function started to deteriorate and fatigue began to set in. This happened so slowly that I didn’t know what was happening. Allopathic doctors were not helpful. After months of being bedridden, I am now functioning again, with better understanding of my illness after educating myself.

Being homebound, isolated, unable to drive and not receiving adequate medical care, I was at a loss. The immediate response to any stress, be it action or thought resulted in extreme pain in my muscles. The inflammation flared. I fainted when I stood, I couldn’t eat, and I am now an expert on anything taught on television. 

It has been funny to watch myself when my normal abilities floundered and I was attempting to learn “the new me.” I attempted to get back to work too early, not knowing if I would get better or not. I am happy to say, I am now experienced in pacing, setting good boundaries and learning less is more. I’m still working on my filter! I am back in my somewhat active life, but not compulsively as before. I am peaceful and working part time. 

Having said that, what I want to share is the symptoms of ME, which I experience, are very similar to Covid Symptoms. This causes some hope and some concern. My concern is that ME is more common than Diabetes, but the difference is that most doctors ignore it or won’t learn about it. I assume it is because they cannot find the cause yet. There is no parasite, virus, etc. that they can find. What they could have done though and others have done since medicine began is to know and monitor symptoms and to teach patients to monitor their symptoms. They could give them tools on how to balance their lives as best they can. If they are bedridden as I was, they could have connected me with a counselor to help me understand how to get simple help like food. One of the symptoms of ME is brain fog. I was not able to focus. It was like my mind was cross-eyed. I was better in the evening.  Although I did all I could to get my team of doctors to help me, they weren’t interested. I ended up losing my business. This is another story. 

Much of the time I was laying in bed, I was thinking there must be others who are suffering and don’t know how to get help. If you have a loved one who has brain fog and has a difficult time feeling like doing anything, please look at these symptoms. What doctors are calling the long haul effects of Covid are similar to ME, without the lung issues.  

I have been a successful business owner; traveling internationally to facilitate workshops, publishing books and teaching and psychically reading clients. I worked as a mental health professional for many years. None of this mattered when ME took over. I couldn’t think well enough to save myself and the doctors looked at me like I was an alien, (apart from my spiritual woo-woo work) and when I lost some of my medication (safely tucked away in my tiny Altoids container I later found), the pharmacy treated me like I was drug seeking. 

The National Diabetes Statistics Report 2020 says that just over one in ten people in the US have diabetes. 

If ME is as pervasive, please talk to your friends, your family and co-workers to see if we are missing someone who might be suffering.

Protect Yourself!

I am delighted that so many people are talking about HSPs (Highly Sensitive Persons) and Empaths lately. Those of us who have experienced life from  heightened sensitivity take in so much more stimulation and it can be exhausting.

What I recommend for protection are three practices. DNA Activation, Zipping Up and my 12 Minute Clearing Meditation. Those are my “Go-To” practices no matter what happens and yes, I have been hit energetically and had to clear, clear, clear!

Do you feel good and then all of the sudden – you feel different? You may all of the sudden be filled with emotion, exhaustion, feel dizzy or have an immediate sense of heaviness? Check to see if you need to eat or drink something. You may need to rest. Or, you may have been hit energetically.

Practice this grounding exercise. It is part of the 12 Minute Clearing Meditation. This is an old video that I could redo, but then I wouldn’t have the help of Mathilda Grace!

Arie Luyendyk Jr. – Listen to your Gut!

Arie Luyendyk Jr., the recent Bachelor on the The Bachelor was trashed all over social media because of his recent decision. If you haven’t been watching the show, he proposed to Becca Kufrin. They spent weeks together but his mind was split between Becca and the other woman he had fallen in love with on the show, Lauren Burnham.

Lauren presented (as the “Reality Show” depicted her) as being insecure and needing constant reassurance. We all could see Arie light up when he was around her, but many of the viewers and his family saw Becca as the better choice. She was confident, happy, fun and a beautiful woman.

Eventually Arie contacted Lauren through Instagram and started a conversation, which resulted in his breaking off the engagement to Becca. On After the Final Rose, an extended program they created, he proposed to Lauren.

The large following of Bachelor Nation was outraged, but I felt differently.

As a counselor and a psychic medium, working with clients for over 30 years, I was delighted to see him follow his “gut feeling.” He struggled he said from either being in his head or following his heart, but as I watched this season of the show, I could see it was his gut that was screaming out to him and his head that was being what we would think of as reasonable.

In sessions with clients when they are leaving a marriage or other relationship, I ask them, “When did you first know this was not the person for you?” Almost always they would answer something like “When we first met,” or “The day of the wedding.” Making decisions where your heart, head and gut are involved are not easy. Had they listened to their intuition, many of the traumatic experiences would not have happened.

This is especially true when you have never been taught how to develop your intuition and to trust it.

There are four basic ways to get intuitive information.

Clairsentience or “clear feeling”

Clairsentience comes from your feelings and physical sensations.  When you begin to develop this sense, it is important to slow down and notice how you feel in certain situations.

Claircognizance or “clear knowing”

When you find you just know something, but cannot explain why, this can be claircognizance.

Clairaudience or “clear hearing”

Clairaudience is when you hear information.  These voices can be from different sources within.

Clairvoyance or “clear seeing”

With clairvoyance you may see images and understand the meaning of these visions.

This may be a good time to become aware of your own inner guidance, your own intuition. One way to do this is to start a journal and just take notes about what you sense, know, hear, or images you get and then start seeing how they validate what happens in your life.

With 4 Ways to Develop Your Clairvoyance you can also teach your children how to trust their gut. Children are more in tune with this ability because they have not lost it yet! Find a friend and start exploring with each other by sharing experiences and you’ll see how easy it is to start listening to your intuition.

After this debacle, Arie’s fiancé Lauren no longer presents as being insecure. It appears she truly knows that Arie has chosen her. This supports the thought that “everything happens for a reason.” Having said that, I think we can all agree that initially following your intuition is the simplest and easiest way to live your life.

Slow Down, Relax and Enjoy!

With all the bright lights, vivid colors and melodious sounds of the holiday season, it can be easy to become robotic just trying to get things done. The holiday season is so full of textures and smells, it is a great time to pull away from your family and take some time for yourself to slow down, relax and enjoy.

With the frivolity of the holiday shopping and parties, one of my favorite ways to rest and connect with myself is through my journal. Whether I am making lists (and checking them twice), free writing to release stress, or doodling with my favorite colored pencils, it is the Sacred place where I connect with my deepest Self.

This is the time to review the past year and to anticipate the opportunities of the year ahead. Here are some Soul Stems to assist you in the process. You may want to look back at your journal at this time last year to see what you planned for this year.

 What excites me about the coming year is . . .

 I am grateful for . . .

Each year rather than making a list of resolutions, I find I do better with choosing one word to focus upon for the year. Last year I chose Allow. To become more conscious I became aware of my resistance to situations and people and eased into allowing instead. This created a lot of self-awareness and was a great experience. I haven’t settled on a word yet this year, but will use the Soul Stem “The one word that will guide me in the coming year is . . .”  a few times to become clear.
